Rock On….

September 4, 2008 by Vikram Hazra 14 Comments

….was a blast! Bollywood seems to be undergoing a major facelift, with thoughtful themes, credible dialogues, crystalline edits and kick-ass music! Lucky for us viewers ๐Ÿ™‚

Apart from the fabulous performances from the actors, it was Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music that really floated my boat.

The other pleasant surprise for me this week was Jodha Akbar (on dvd, :p ) The message was clear; Akbar was a good king and a great human being, and that’s why no one talks about him! Thanks Ashutosh Gowariker for having the conviction to focus on goodness, human values and broad vision and showing how these are the contributing factors to a healthy, stable society ๐Ÿ™‚

I’d love to learn more about the Deen-e-Ilahi, the inclusive religion that Akbar had founded, but died before witnessing its fruition.

wat goes on the screen makes a great impact on us.
subconsciously, we think and act in the same manner.

The responsibility that the people on and behind the screen are taking to make this earth a beautifull and a wonderfull place to live in is really admirable.

the efforts they put in and the understanding with which they move with each other … every thing amazes me .

i have got the dvd of jodha akbar, we will be watching it today. its my birthday. so, a cozy family time.

hvnt tried chrome as its windows-only so far ๐Ÿ™‚
Also people pl bear with us as we find the best place to shove the ads.Lack of connectivity has been the cause for delay. And as for the money, I only get that if you click on them from time to time — dont get enthu and keep clicking, that has a negative effect ๐Ÿ™‚

manjula I hv always been a movie buff but time constraints forced me to watch movies on DVD on my laptop. Being based in Bbay again means I can drop into a v clean theatre on my way back fm work, meet my wife and enjoy a movie and dinner — v convenient. Also, the new multiplexes in Bbay are really comfortable and clean, so one doesnt feel groggy or sapped in them!

    Bhaiya,

    JGD!

Well, to be honest, this movie to me did not narrate a very new story or script…in fact I found it to be quite similar to Farhan Akhtar’s Di Chahta Hai..friends…break….and then reunion…

Well, as far as music goes, hats off to the SEL trio for their capacity to produce so much of genres….But Music lacks melody except one song…probably for it is rock…..

So, what they were required to do they did wonderfully well…u like or i like is a matter of personal choices…

Well, sorry for ki Guru jaise bande ke saamne ek bahut hi chotta saa banda bol raha hai…
aur bhaiya..aap bat kaise hain aap..aap kabhi bhabhi ji se bhi milwao…

    urs,
    rahul(noida)

Just went for ROCK On.yes it was truly gr8. Esp the cinemotography and the lyrics. It makes perfect sense tooo… not the usual romance / marriage and divorce stuff.. watched it twice. Believe it or not…..Farhan when he was playing Guitar i remembered you.and arjun Rampal ‘s Hair( only hair style Dinesh Bhaiya) else Arjun was a Flat effect….N bhaiya Happy Teachers Day to you…..
