The first Vocational Skill Development Project, a joint venture of
The Art of Living(VVKI) and Laurus Edutech was inaugurated in Sinnar
(Nashik District-Maharashtra) on 8th March, 2010.
The project was declared open by Vikram Hazra, Project Director , The
Art of Living in the presence of Mr Neti Srinivasan, Country Manager
of Laurus Edutech.
Located at Sinnar Industrial Co.op. Society, appx 20 kms from Nashik,
the centre has already enrolled 35 students and will have atleast 80
(max capacity) by 15th March.
Laurus Edutech has identified two trades – Welding and Fitting – in
which training will be imparted in modules starting from 4 weeks to 6
months. The centre will serve the needs of economically backward
sections of the society and also ensure that they are placed in
suitable jobs in nearby industrial units.
The Art of Living will conduct personality development programs which
will include communication skills, work place ethics and other skills
needed to boost the confidence of the participants.
This is the first of the many centres to follow on a pan India basis.

Sachin, I will write another post about this whole training initiative and the thought process behind it, its really something to be optimistic about, as we hv the possibility of creating 50crore jobs in 20 years — not exaggerating!

Great initiative … India’s population can be be utilized for its advantage but without guidance its getting wasted … India need such training institutes.
How to get more information on this, would like to be a part of such good initiatives, but not sure how to go about it.
